Obituary of Emanuel H. Lazerson
Manny (Lefty) Lazerson, age 97, passed peacefully on July 23, 2020 surrounded by his devoted family. Manny was the beloved husband of Rita (Mandell) to whom he was married for 72 years.
Manny was a proud veteran of World War II and a man of many talents. His beautiful tenor voice brought smiles. Manny believed that singing a song daily contributed to his longevity and kept him young at heart. His jokes, some learned from his golf buddies, are famous. He was proud of his three-letter sports career at Fairport High, and was a lifelong member of the alumni association at University of Illinois. Manny was happiest when surrounded by his wife, three daughters, six grandchildren, and great grandson, and the family grand dogs. Manny owned and operated Monroe Surgical Supply for many years, and prior to that, he taught Rhetoric and Debate at Syracuse University.
Manny is predeceased by his parents, Hyman and Lillian Lazerson and his brothers Jules and Robert. Manny is survived by the love of his life Rita Lazerson, his daughters and their spouses, Toby Lazerson (Dan Morocco), Wendy Lazerson (Richard Schmitt) and Patti Kehoe (Michael Kehoe), his six grandchildren Matt Kehoe (Kristin Kehoe), Jaime Morocco (Varun Pathak), Mollie Kehoe (James Sharpe), Megan Kehoe, Andrew Schmitt, and Abbey Schmitt, his great grandson Grant Kehoe, his devoted sister-in-law Lee Sloan, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
