Obituary of Lois E. Posner

Passed away April 17th after a nearly two year battle with lung cancer. Born November 26, 1939 in Rochester, NY. Predeceeded by her father Sol Karch and mother Katherine Karch; brother David Karch; sister-in-law Marcia Karch; and the love of her life, her husband Joe U. Posner. 

Lois grew up on Clifford Avenue in the City and moved to Brighton in her teen years where she attended and graduated from Brighton High school in 1957. She went to Syracuse University and majored in Fashion design. After graduation, she ran a department for her father’s clothing manufacturing company in Rochester, and throughout her life she was an avid knitter and sewer. She met Joe U. on a blind date and married him in 1970. They were married for 31 years until his death in May 2001. 
 

Lois is survived by her son Keane Posner; her daughter Mara (David) Metzger; granddaughters Zoe and Jaime; niece Ruth (Scott) Lucas; nephew Scott Karch; and her many dear cousins, friends and admirers. 

The family is grateful to the staff of Green House Cottage #2 at the Jewish Home of Rochester for their excellent care of Lois during her stay.

She was a beloved and special individual and will be missed dearly.

The funeral service will be held privately. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
