Obituary of Robert M. Sanow
On Thursday, November 26, 2020, Robert Sanow, of Brighton, passed away at age 92.
Robert, a lifelong Rochesterian, was born on November 17, 1928 to Dr. Abe and Dorothy (Rosenberg) Sanow. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1946 and the University of Pennsylvania in 1950. Robert served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War. He owned Clover Products from 1953-1979 and then had a successful career as an executive recruiter for Sales Consultants, Cochran, Cochran & Yale and as a solo practitioner.
Robert spent many years as a camper and counselor at JCC Camp Seneca Lake; he met his wife while working there. Robert was an avid baseball fan and longtime little league coach. He loved to watch the History Channel and Jeopardy.
Robert leaves a loving wife of 66 years, Marilyn Reitkopp Sanow, two children, David Sanow and Susan (Noel) Sanow Kaplan, one granddaughter, Alexandra Kaplan, a Brother-in-law/Sister-in-law Howard and Ellen Reitkopp, Sister-in-law Nancy Reitkopp, Sister-in-Law Joyce Spingarn and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s name to the charity of your choice.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the burial will be private.
