Obituary of David J. Lubell

David Joseph Lubell, of Rochester, NY, and previously Southbury Ct and Long Island, NY, died peacefully of natural causes on November 27, 2018, 3 weeks short of the age of 96.

David is preceded in death by his first wife, Miriam (Rosenheck) Lubell and second wife, Janet (Somoroff) Lubell; his brother Arthur Lubell and his sister Edith Woods.

He is survived by his daughter Cathie Burke and her husband Bill, son Richard Lubell and his wife Debby, and daughter LuviaJane Swanson and her husband Bruce; his granddaughters Julia Burke, Karen Burke, Jennifer Lubell and Heather Lubell; his sister Irene Newman.

Born December 20, 1922, David was a skilled craftsman who taught ceramics, enjoyed woodworking and was an early member of The International Wood Collectors Society. A deep love of nature and passion for bird watching inspired David’s later life and travels.
