Obituary of Murray Kaye

Murray Kaye Rochester: April 5, 2011 at the age of 87. He is predeceased by his wife, Marion; sister, Phyllis; and survived by his son, Robert (Faith); daughter, Judith; brother-in-law, David (Jackie); cousins, nieces & nephew. Beloved husband and father. He was born in Los Angeles and grew up in New York City. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war, he and his wife settled on Long Island where they lived for over 60 years. He spent the last fifteen months of his life in Rochester. He had a sweet and gentle personality, a great sense of humor, and a contagious smile. He loved and supported his children unconditionally. He never raised his voice or his hand, instead teaching by example and deed. He taught his children to help and accept others, that their word was their bond, and the meaning of compassion and integrity. He valued family above all else and worked tirelessly to provide for them never asking for anything in return. He was a true gentleman and a man of great character. He was kind and forgiving. He read extensively and loved gardening, fishing, and birds. He worked in the Service Station business from the time he was a young boy and owned several on Long Island during his career. In his retirement years he became a Master Gardener through The Cornell Cooperative Extension Program and shared his love and knowledge of gardening with others. He was deeply loved and cherished and will be deeply missed. Home Syosset, New York Birthplace Los Angeles, California Donations
