Obituary of Esther Silverstein Handelman

Esther Silverstein Handelman Passed away August 28, 2012 at age 97 at home surrounded by loved ones. Predeceased by husbands, Herman Handelman & Leonard Silverstein; sisters & brothers, Jennie, Ethel, Sally, Bessie, Zelda, Irene, Ben, Harry, Morris & Alfred. Her priority was keeping the large family together with her amazing culinary skills & her love for celebrations. For several years she was a prominent caterer in Rochester. She is survived by her children, Sonia & Abraham Fried, Judith & Robert Jack, Diann & Dr. Herbert Cohen, Dr. Stanley Handelman, Martin & Sherrie Handelman, Dr. Chester & Phyllis Handelman, and Baila & Arthur Celedonia; grandchildren, Deborah & Harvey, Nathan & Tracy, Susan & Paul, Michael & Alice, Elana, Lisa, Amy, Julie, Eric, Lauren, Arthur, Miriam, Loren, Allen, Bruce, Jacob, & Paul. Esther was blessed to have 33 great-grandchildren & several nieces and nephews who provided support. With deep love & appreciation we wish to thank her caregivers, Ellen Williams, Veronica Manning, Maxine Wellington, & Pansy Henderson & her Florida support team Tony, Violet, Emma & Rosanne & hospice. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 11 AM in the Rabbi Abraham Solomon Chapel of Temple Beth El (139 Winton Rd. S.). Click here for directions to the temple.
