Obituary of Abraham DeMayo

Passed away peacefully on May 23, 2018, at the age of 89. Predeceased by his daughter, Vickie DeMayo Hechter; and
2 sisters & 3 brothers. Survived by his wife, Aline; daughter, Cheryl (Gary) Robinson; son, Scott (Marlene) DeMayo; son-in-law, David Hechter (Marlene Schancupp); brother-in-law, Henri Berger; grandchildren, Zachary (Kate) Robinson,  Alexander Robinson, Alicia Hechter, Evan DeMayo, Griff DeMayo, Cody (Lia) Castiglia and Chelsea Castiglia (Nicholas Huber); great-granddaughter, Eliana; great-grandson, Nicholas; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews. Abraham was an Army veteran of the Korean War and the recipient of the 1986 Rochesterian Award. He loved the Yankees, old movies and listening to music.

A private service to be held at the convenience of the family. A celebration of his life and Shiva will be held at St. John Meadows at Chestnut Court on Sunday, May 27th from    12:30 – 4:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation in his memory. Many thanks to his VA team, Wilmot Cancer Center and St. John’s Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave him.
