It's been many years since Bob and I were in Rochester but I will always remember Sadie's warm smile and gracious laugh. She was very fortunate to have a loving family and many friends. She will be missed but her memory and the lessons she taught wll live on.

Sadye was such a happy joyous woman. Whenever I saw her around Brighton, mostly in Tops, she was upbeat and smiling. She always made me feel as though seeing me made her day, so seeing her made mine! She will be remembered fondly.

They say as long as you talk about or think about a person who has passed on they will live on .
My memories may not be new but rather from days gone by but they are as fresh in my mind as when they accured.

Aunt Sadye...so much to remember! Aunt Sadye was the eldest of the three sisters (later referred to as the three musketeers)and took the role of leader and disciplinarian of the three to heart. Everything should be shared equally even baked beans which she doled out "one for you (Mae), one for you (Sophie) and one for me". She was the glue that held the entire family together always. I'm sure she had favorites from time to time, but everyone should be treated equally, also.
Aunt Sadye loved children! When she met our grandchildren, one-by-one she held them with the most gentle hands I have ever seen. There was never any resistence when it was suggested to the grandchildren to visit Aunt Sadye. They all loved her!
And Aunt Sadye was truly ecumenical as she attended the baptisms, first communions, school concerts of our first born granddaughter.
We could go on and on with the memories, but suffice it to say that Sadye was one of a kind and her memory will live on in all of us who knew her and loved her. How lucky we are to have shared a part of her 101 years!

Cousin by blood, aunt by respect, matchmaker by fate, Sadye holds a special place in my heart and the heart of my wife Judy, who once taught with her. Sadye introduced the two of us and insisted that we go on a date, a date which turned into 50 years of marriage and still counting happily. It was a mitzvah that assured her place in Heaven. Judy and I had the pleasure of visiting with Sadye in her retirement home several years ago and thanking her for pairing us. It was a wonderful visit for the three of us, a visit that we continue to cherish. So long, Sadye, and thanks again.

Aunt Sadye was the eldest sister of three great ladies, and as an eldest myself, always found joy and peace in her ability to be both loving and directive. She kept us all moving forward, she loved us all deeply, and her spirits and lessons will remain alive in our hearts and minds forever. I am grateful for her long time with us, and blessed to think about her with Mae and Sophie again! It is Sunday morning, and they don't need to phone one another anymore! Rest well and in celebration for a life well lived Aunt Sadye...

I knew Sadye through the stories and photos of her life shared by her son Mel and daughter-in-law Annie. A very unique person has left us. She has already received the greatest tribute in these Stone Messages: a teacher that had a lasting impact on a student.

My Aunt Sadye, along with her 2 beloved sisters served as women to aspire to be.... they were educated, strong and able to endure... Aunt Sadye was always to me - positive, loving and lead with a huge smile... my memories of her will be cherished and continue to make me laugh. I smile picturing the 3 sisters together again. Go In Peace Aunt Sadye. You remain loved and will be missed.
