Carol Leichtner

Obituary of Carol S. Leichtner

May 17, 2018 after a long and debilitating illness, surrounded at all times by loving family and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Beatrice & Monte Sheinberg. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jeremy; loving children, Edward & David (Heidi Bossard); adored grandchildren, Joseph, Hannah & Carly; devoted sister, Paula Sheinberg; & sister-in-law, Natalie Rosen.

Carol loved and was loved by a vast circle of friends. She will be sorely missed.

Carol was a teacher for many years and worked as a substitute in the Penfield School District. She was very devoted to her synagogue and later in life stepped into job share as Religious School Principal. She also filled in as Executive Director when the need arose. She went on to be Program Director. She retired at age 75 with a lovely congregation dinner in her honor.

Carol loved being with friends and family. She enjoyed Bridge and Ma Jong but her special joy was her grandchildren.

Special thanks to the loving care she received at Strong Memorial Hospital and the Jewish Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 2 PM in the sanctuary of Temple B'rith Kodesh (2131 Elmwood Ave.). Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday 2-4 PM & Thursday 6-8 PM at the family home in Penfield. Donations in Carol's memory may be made to the Education Fund of Temple B'rith Kodesh.
