Marvin, you are the tallest man that I have ever known. You stood high and straight throughout your life, during the years of your serious illnesses, and in the terminal days and moments of your time here on earth. You have been a role model of friendship, generosity and intellectual honesty. We all have marveled at Marvin. You have conducted yourself with dignity and exactitude. Who else will accept me without question for who I am or for whatever I do? Who will give me sage advice? With whom will I share my thoughts while having coffee at Starbucks? With which liberal will I argue at election time? Who will ask me, “Have you read The New York Times today?” Who will patiently view and enjoy the many photos I have taken of my family and grandchildren and share his own in return? Marvin, during all the years we have known each other, I never saw you get angry, raise your voice or express disapproval without diplomatically offering a solution. Who will give me sage advice? Your passing has left a void in my life. Your memory will sustain me. Your example will carry on for generations for your family and friends. I am honored to have been part of both. “Brother” Bob.
