I wish to extend my sincere condolences to the Schiffres family. I only learned the sad news last night and am very sorry I didn't get to attend the funeral or make a shiva visit. My earliest memories of Irv are when he used to give us rides to synagogue shortly after we first moved to Rochester, when we didn't have a car yet. The last time I saw him was when he and and Mim came to visit while we were sitting shiva for my mother last fall. In spite of his debilitated state, he told me to call him if he were needed for a minyan. I will always remember his friendliness and kindness. He will be greatly missed.
