Obituary of Rose Korn

Rose Korn Passed away on April 10, 2011 at age 102. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Milton Korn, parents Hyman and Jenny Belinson Katz, and sister Sara Katz Posner. She is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Martin W. and Phyllis Shames Korn; grandchildren, Dr. Stephen (Gail) Korn, Jeffrey (Lori) Korn, Rachel (Jeremy) Goldberg; great grandchildren, Eliana Korn, Sam and David Korn, and Daniel, Joshua, Rebecca and Miriam Goldberg; nephews Tom Abrams, Dan (Lisa) Abrams, Larry Klass, David (Susan) Posner; nieces Harriet Posner Cohen and Wilma Klass. Rose was a graduate of NYU, and manager of the family business, Katz Jewelers in Cedarhurst, NY. Rose was an expert pearl restringer, and enjoyed oil painting for over 70 years. We will miss her sparkle, her kindness, her pride and pleasure in her family, and her eagerness to participate in everything. She will also be missed by her caregivers at the Jewish Home, 6NE, who dearly loved her smile and wry humor. Funeral Services will be held at Temple Beth El (139 Winton Road S.) on Tuesday, April 12 at 11:00am. (Click for a Map to Temple) Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. Following the funeral, the family will receive friends Tuesday and Wednesday at 71 Hillary Lane in Penfield, 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
