Obituary of John Gerard Erne
July 25, 2018 at age 77. Predeceased by parents John and Frances Erne; sister, Karen Burgholzer. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Ellen; children, Melissa (Jason) Yaworsky, Susan (Dr. Robert) Rosenblatt and Jeffrey (Melissa) Erne; grandchildren, Anna & Katherine Yaworsky, Joseph, Emma & Charles Rosenblatt and Duncan John Erne; sister, Gail (George Monroe) Peterson; brother-in-law, David (Diane) Pies.
John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He grew up on Glide Street in Rochester. He was an Air Force Veteran. John worked for Xerox for 32 years as an engineer and volunteered at Habitat for Humanity for over 10 years. He was an avid gardener, a youth baseball & football coach and a 40-year member of Temple Sinai. A role model to all who knew him, John will be remembered for his sense of humor and great pride in and love for his family.
The family wishes to thank all the health care providers who helped John.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 11 AM in the All Seasons Chapel of White Haven Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5 PM at 48 Round Trail Dr. in Pittsford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity or Pittsford Ambulance.
