Obituary of Beverly w. Abrahams

Beverly W. Abrahams (Werner) Rochester: Passed away March 7, 2010, at age 86. She was the daughter of Benjamin & Martha Werner. She was predeceased by her husband, Morton; and sister, Mildred Wagner. She is survived by her loving children, Rabbi David Abrahams, Deborah "Debby" (Howard Gordon) Abrahams, Alida (Lewis) White; grandchildren, Emelyne & Martin Abrahams, Marcia White; great-grandson, Ian Abrahams. Beverly was a graduate of Hunter High School & Hunter College, and received her Master's in English from the New School for Social Research in NYC. She married Morton Abrahams on June 25, 1950. He predeceased her on October 15, 1965. Beverly went on to become President of the General Preserve Company until she sold the business in 1966. After that, she worked for the New York Times from 1969-1991. She was a professional artist who displayed her work at The Gallery on Main Street in Canandaigua throughout the 1990's. Beverly always had a lifelong interest in art and classical music. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 2 PM at Brighton Memorial Chapel, 3325 Winton Road South. Private interment. Following the funeral, a period of mourning will be observed at the home of Rabbi David Abrahams, 87 Willowick Dr., Fairport, (Click for a Map to the Home) on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:30 PM. Following the funeral, a period of mourning will be observed at the home of Rabbi David Abrahams, 87 Willowick Dr., Fairport, on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:30 PM.
