My mother Marjorie "Midge" Van Demark (187 Crosman Terrace, later Canandaigua Lake) and Marion were old and dear friends. Mom is now in comfort care at the Continuing Care Center at Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. I am reaching out to Mom's friends and, when Marion's phone number did not work, I did some research and found this obituary. Mom will miss her. Marion was a great lady.

Dear Ellen and family,
My heart aches with the news of Marion’s death and its sense of unreality, even after so many years. I will remember your mom’s elegance, intelligence, kindness and rugelach, and merrily chasing after “the duchess.” May she rest in the affections of all whose lives she touched. I send much love.

I want to thank all the people who wrote here and reminded me what a "grand" and "classy" lady my Grandma was.She loved us and cared about us so much, that even though we where all around her the past month, and with my Mom already on the plane from Israel to see her again, she decided to cause us no further pain and take her last breath in the few hours we wer'nt there... she let only her good friend Oralee, who was next to her the past 4 years, see her go. I love you Gram's and miss you allready, but I know we are safer than ever now that we have you watching over us from above. Have a safe journey! your Dovie

I am so sorry to hear of Marion's passing. As a lifelong friend of my grandparents, Marion was a part of all of our lives. She was always interested in what we were doing. I will remember her smile and her voice, and how she talked with pride about her grandchildren. My thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
Love,
Mindy

Marion lived at Wolk Manor and was always a willing and gracious ambassador to show her lovely apartment home. She was a dignified lady, and I'm blessed to have known her.

It has been a few years since I last saw Marion but I did try and call her a few months ago and her granddaughter answered saying she was not feeling well. I asked her to send my wishes to her. For many years Marion did volunteer work at the Jewish Federation and her grace and style were her trade mark. She was so kind to me when I underwent surgery a number of years ago and I will never forget her sweetness. May she rest in peace.
