Obituary of Barbara Jean Finer

Barbara Jean Finer (Goldman) Baltimore, MD: Born 11/5/1949, died at the age of 60 on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. She is predeceased by her parents, Albert & Alberta Goldman. She is survived by her son, Jeremy Finer of Rochester, NY; twin sister, Susan (David) Goldman-Moore and niece Hannah Moore of Tulsa, OK; first cousins, Alan Kates of San Francisco, CA & David (Mary Jane) Kates of Rochester, NY. Barbara began her career as a gifted and talented elementary teacher first in Lorian, OH and then in Baltimore. She became a religious educator and administrator, working for Jewish congregations in Toronto, Rochester, Philadelphia, and Tulsa. She received her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration in 2005 from St. John Fisher College and most recently served as an administrator for The Children’s Guild in Baltimore. Barbara cared deeply about the rights of students with disabilities and worked diligently to secure these rights for many children throughout her career. A Graveside Service will be held on MONDAY, 12:30 PM in Mt. Hope Cemetery Click Here For Map. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the main gate of the cemetery at 12:15 PM.
