Obituary of Abe Saporta
Abe Saporta died peacefully at his home on May 26, 2017 at age 95. A well known custom tailor, he owned and operated Saporta Mens Shop until he retired.
Abe was very active in his synagogue, Light of Israel, and served as past president and chair of their annual picnic for many years. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. You'd often find him behind the grill, tending to his tomato garden, or sharing stories, especially of his army service during WWII. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Abe was preceded in death by his parents, Victoria and Hyman Saporta, and brothers Sandro and David Saporta. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lea Saporta; daughters Vicki Saporta, Ilene Saporta (Steven Wodka), Holly De Novellis (Vincent); grandchildren Jay Wodka, Michael Wodka, Ross Niedermeier, Laura Ripple, Carly Niedermeier; and many nieces and nephews.
