While speaking of death is difficult at best, pre-planning your funeral, a normal part of estate planning, can actually make the process easier for you and your family. You are there to help make the decisions. You decide exactly what type of funeral service you want, relieving family and friends of the burden at a time when emotions are intense. All information and details about the funeral service are kept on file at the funeral home. Pre-planning does not need to be funded, but may be if you choose. All funds are deposited in an interest bearing FDIC insured account, which can be revoked or transferred to a different funeral home upon written request. One of our funeral directors is available for pre-plan counseling at no obligation or cost to you.

SSI/Medicaid Burial Trust

If you are applying for financial assistance under SSI/Medicaid, an amendment to the Social Security Act now makes it possible for eligible persons to set aside funds for the funeral and burial of their choice, before resources are reduced to eligibility levels and exhausted by medical bills or a nursing home. An irrevocable trust, which may be transferred to a different funeral home upon written request, is established to cover funeral related costs.
