Sara Feldman
Sara Feldman, 84, nee Zylberszac of Keeler Park Apartments passed away on July 1, 2002 at Rochester General Hospital after a brief illness. Born July 2, 1917 in Skierniwice, Poland, she was predeceased by her husband, Leizor and sisters, Adela Tobias & Gittel Verderber all of Rochester. The Zylberszac family traces its history to the middle 17th century in Czestochowa. The extensive Zylberszac fmily perished in the Holocaust. Sara, her husband and her sisters survived the holocaust in the Czestochowa ghetto and what later became the HASAG forced labor camp. Formerly of Athens Street in Rochester, she was employed by Bonds Clothes in Rochester. She married Leizor in labor camp. The family immigrated to the US in 1959 from Israel. Sara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who gave selflessly to many, asking little in return. After all the suffering she endured, may her soul rest forever in peace in the Garden of Eden next to all the departed gentle souls whose company she longed for and missed all the days of her life.
She is survived by her children, Judy & Uri Bin-Nun of Keene, NH and John & Jamie Feldman of Rome, NY; grandchildren, Eva and Dannie Bin-Nun, Jared, Jason and Joshua Feldman; sister, Malka Eichler of Israel; brother-in-law, Solomon Verderber; nieces & nephews in the US and Israel.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 3rd at 11:30 AM in Britton Road Cemetery. Friends wishing may contribute to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW, Washington, DC 20024-2150 in her memory. A period of mourning will be observed at each child's respective houses.
